When the Interfaith Solidarity and Accompaniment Coalition better known as ISAAC put out a call for face-mask-makers, Friend Carla rose to the challenge. Many of you know Carla’s dexterous creative work making clothing, reusable bags, and many other items (see these lovely t-shirt rugs!) out of discarded fabric. She often gives away her creations for a donation to the Fort Collins Friends Meeting.
Now the rug-making is on hold — make way for masks!
As Carla said, “It’s been a while since I did ‘production sewing’ — I hope to get faster.”
ISAAC is partnering with the local food bank and homeless shelters to provide masks for those in need. We are lucky to have such talented people like Carla in our community looking for ways to support others.
What ways have you found to reach out? What ways have you or others responded to the present moment with creativity?
